On Wednesday, June 6^th at 7 p.m. Pastor Jeff will give a presentation to the United Methodist Women on the subject of what has come to be called “Near Death Experiences”.  Throughout history human beings have reported extraordinary experiences when drawing near to death.  These have included the sensation of leaving their body, passing through a tunnel towards a very bright light, feelings of unconditional love, and seeing loved one who had pre-deceased them and divine beings.  Typically such experiences take altogether their fear of death and lead to a greater appreciation of love and kindness.   With the modern medical capacities such experiences are occurring with much greater frequency.  What do these accounts have to teach us, and how do they fit with the Christian understanding of the afterlife?  This will also be an opportunity for people to share experiences they or their loved ones have had at the portal of death.
